Pink Ribbon
Christmas
White Horse Academy of Martial Arts is more than a school
that teaches kicking and punching. We participate in
fundraisers for Breast Cancer regularly. Christmas this year
brought in a new fundraiser “Pink Ribbon Christmas.” Every
year the students at WHAMA make an ornament for the school’s
Christmas tree. The ornaments over the years have been unique,
original, and personal with names, dates, and ranks on them.
This year WHAMA decided to make our “ornaments” a fundraiser
for Breast Cancer Research. One of our “moms” Mrs. Milly
bought pink ribbon and fashioned them into the Breast Cancer
Pink Ribbon. They were purchased by the students for a
donation to the Komen Foundation. Each ribbon was personalized
with the names, dates, and ranks as in previous years and
placed on the school’s tree. It ended up to be a beautiful
“Pink Ribbon Christmas Tree” and WHAMA feels this will become
a regular tradition. WHAMA’s owner and chief instructor is
Master Barbara Dickens 7th Dan Black Belt and 2
time breast Cancer survivor.
